P1
The second tool I used was the Layer Mask Tool. This tool allows me to alter the image I have cut out using the Quick Selection Tool. From here using the Layer Mask Tool, I am able to edit my photo and make it look neater and more professional.
Finally, the third tool I used was the Paint Brush Tool. With this tool and the Layer Mask selected I am able to again alter the image and take away parts of the image. However, this tool also allows me to add the background back into the image. The way I am able to switch between adding and taking away parts of the image is by switching between black and white colouring. Using the white colour enables you to add the image back into where you are now. Wherever using the black colour takes away any part of the image you paint using the black colour.

GENRE CHARACTERISTICS
Characters - The characters in the majority of these films are male dominant. All of the characters are known as hero's and superhero's in their specific film. Most of the characters lifestyles cannot be copied in real life, as the majority of the character have either un-natural powers or abilities. This creates a desire for people to become like these hero's or superhero's.
Settings - In some of these films, the main locations are impossible to recreate as the director has made the world completely different to how the real world is. This is because it brings the audience in as they want to see how the characters get around in the new world. However, most of the films have a recurring attention to filming in the big city, with skyscrapers and big important buildings for the bad guys to destroy the get the good guy's attention.
Iconography - Iconography is usually spotted in superhero films as they have a symbol which represents the character. For example, the Batman Logo is well known all around the world and anyone who see's is recognises that is it about Batman. Another example of this would be the Avengers letter A. Due to the graphic design of the letter it stands out to the audience. Therefore being iconic.
Themes - The main theme for most films, is action. This is because it grabs the audiences attention. Adventure is usually mixed with Action as it gives the film a meaning for the characters to use the action aspect because they are trying to get something which is going to help them or give them an advantage over the bad guy's. Another common theme in films romance. Romance is commonly found in love films as it needs to be involved. But it can also be in action films for the character to fight for his loved one. For example, Deadpool is all about him doing everything so that he can survive the cancer and live with his girlfriend (future wife) forever.
I have a very keen interest in comic based films. For example, spiderman is a very well known film around the world and that interests a lot of people lie myself. I think it is due to the action involved and I love watching action take place in films. I also love the fact that in the majority of these films, the storyline and world it is based in is completely opposite to how the real world is. I think this is a common interest in films as people can zone into the movie and really connect with the characters in the film.

Display Type
1. Hierarchy - The order of important in text.
2. Kerning - The space between two characters.
3. Leading - The space between two lines.
1 - Obviously, I thought that the title was the most important as it stands out the most in the poster. The vast majority of the audience are going to look firstly at the title because it tells people about the film before looking at the main image.
2 - I decided to put the release date and cinemas at number 2. The reasoning for this is due to the audience who are interested in the film are going to want to know when it is going to be released and what cinemas will be showing it.
3 - Putting the stars names at number 3 was due to the audience having fans. Therefore, if they see that their favourite actor is in the film, then they are going to be more interested in watching the film.
4 - Marvel Studios is very well known around the world. Therefore, people are going to see that the film is made my Marvel and want to watch it as they know the film is going to be good.
5 - Finally, I put the credit block at the last number 5 spot due to the significance of it. Not many people are really interested in all the small details about who was involved in the production and making of the film.
1 - The title is the most important thing on the poster as it is the first thing people look at, text wise, so that is why it is number 1 on my placements.
2 - The release date and cinemas has to go in the second placement due to the majority of viewers seeing the poster are going to want to know when the cinema is being released and to what cinemas.
3 - The reason I put the featuring actors at number 3 in the placement is due to the viewers looking at the poster are going to wonder if there are any popular actors involved in the film. If so, it might encourage them to watch the movie.
4 - Finally, I put the credit block at the last number 4 spot due to the significance of it. Not many people are really interested in all the small details about who was involved in the production and making of the film.
In both of these posters, clearly Thor Ragnarok has more fonts in the poster rather than the Kingsman poster. Firstly, this might be due to the popularity of the Marvel films. Due to their previous success in the movie industry, there is a chance that the film poster is going to be closely looked at and judged more than a smaller movie which doesn't have such a background like Kingsman.
Secondly, in Thor Ragnarok's poster, there are going to be more of a variety of colours due to the target audience. Marvel doesn't have any swearing in the film. 12A is the age rating for the film and that is only because the film is about unrealistic violence. However, there are more colours on the poster as the target age would be younger than Kingsman. Hence why Kingsman's poster is more simpler with a little variety of colours as it is targeted for a older audience.
There are also going to be a lot more fonts in Thor. This is due to the age range but also due to the popularity of the Marvel previous films. Another reason for this might be due to the budget of both films. Thor is going to have more money due to the films in the past which helps make a budget for the film. However, Kingsman has only had one previous film, which means the budget is going to be a lot lower than Thor Ragnarok.
Finally, there are obviously going to be some similarities between both posters as most movie posters follow a simple design pattern. Both have the main characters in the middle of the page and at the centre of attention to the viewers eyes. Just above that, both of the posters have the featuring actors at the top of the page to inform the viewer what main actors are in the film. At the bottom of page is going to be the release date and info about what cinemas the film is going to be showed in. Along with the credit block.
